Fundraising auctions as polished as your galleries.
Show donated art, behind-the-scenes tours and member experiences on bidder pages in your own colors, and reach supporters well beyond the gala room.
What gets easier.
The parts of auction season that take the most volunteer hours.
High-value lots
A reserve price protects a donated painting from selling too cheaply, and bidders only ever see “reserve not met”.
Supporters far away
Members and donors who can’t attend still want to bid. An online catalog opens the auction to all of them.
Brand standards
Your auction should look like your museum, not a generic form.
Built in.
The tools behind every CausIO auction.
Your look, per auction
Banner, main color, headline, story and goal bar can be set for each auction.
Reserve prices
Bids can start below the reserve. If the high bid doesn’t reach it, the item stays unsold.
Fair market value
Record each item’s value and show it to bidders only on the items where you want to.
Photos framed right
Crop and adjust item photos so artwork displays well on every phone.
Offer to the next bidder
If a winner can’t pay, offer the item to the next highest bidder in a couple of clicks.
Board-ready recaps
Turn the auction report into a short summary for the board or member newsletter.
Sponsorship packages
Sell sponsor levels online with tickets included, or send the sponsor an invoice.
Matching gifts
Show a sponsor’s match filling up as members give.
Several sessions, one event
A members’ preview and the gala night in one auction, with tickets and check-in for each.
How it works.
- 1Set your banner, colors and story for the auction.
- 2Add lots with photos, values, reserves and donor credits.
- 3Invite members and donors by email and text.
- 4Close, charge winners and send receipts automatically.
Questions, answered.
Do bidders see the reserve price?
No. Bidders only see whether the reserve has been met. The amount stays private to your team.
Do bidders need to download an app?
No. Bidders open a link or scan a QR code and bid in their phone’s browser. They sign in with a one-time email link, so there is no password to forget. They can also bid by text message.
Can we reuse last year’s auction?
Yes. Duplicate any auction and choose what comes along: items, values, reserves, the bidder page look, sponsors and dates.
How much does CausIO cost?
Qualified nonprofits have no monthly plan: they pay a $200 entry fee and 5% of what each auction raises, or one yearly price with no platform fee. Other organizations pick a plan from $49 a month plus a 1.5% to 3% platform fee. Stripe’s standard processing fees apply, and funds go straight to your own Stripe account.
Run your best auction yet.
Nonprofits pay as they go, or once a year with no platform fee.
